I actually discovered him on accident. Silver Turtle Boyfriend and I were at a little bar show because he wanted to see Tony Luca. I was just amazed when I heard Joe Firstman (his bass player - Darwin Johnson - was killer, too).
We got to chat with him for a few minutes. When he first moved to L.A. one of his strategies was to meet lots of girls, invite them to shows and put them on the guest list. So all of these girls would come because it was free, and these guys would come because that was where the girls were. They didn't make much money at first, because of all the guests, but it built up a little following.
Silver Turtle Boyfriend and I wonder how he's going to top his first album, though.
